LISA CHAN PROMOTED TO CAPTAIN — TRAINING BUREAU
Lisa Chan has promoted to the rank of Captain and has assumed a permanent position as the Unit Commander of the Training Bureau. This position is critical to our daily operations as it assumes the responsibility for the growth of our deputy sheriffs from joining the Department to on going in service training.
Chan started her career in law enforcement in 2005 as a Custody Deputy at the Men's Central Jail. In 2006, she was assigned to the East LS Sheriff's Station as a Patrol Deputy where she remained until 2009, when she left for the Eugene Biskarrat Regional Training Center and became a Staff Instructor for the Training Bureau's Recruit Training Unit. In 2014, Chan became a Lead Staff Instructor with the Recruit Training Unit. In 2018, she promoted to Operations Lieutenant, Training Bureau.
While she's not working, Chan enjoys reading. She speaks three languages fluently: English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. She is engaged to her partner of fifteen years and has aspirations of starting a family.
We congratulate Lisa Chan on her promotion and are excited for her leadership.
