Instructions to the Applicant
The information you provide in this application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of San Andreas Peace Officer, in accordance with POST Commission Regulation 1953.
Disqualification
There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals "fail" background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

44. INTRODUCE YOUR CHARACTER. INCLUDE SOME BACKGROUND STORY, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, AND WHY THEY WANT TO JOIN THE DEPARTMENT.
- Christopher Avery was born in a lower-middle-class household. His father - James was a relatively caring and present father, Laura - Christopher's mother, on the other hand, was quite the opposite, her struggle with depression made Christopher's and his younger sisters' lives problematic. Oldest in four siblings and only son to James and Laura, Christopher had to carry the burden of being a designated figure for responsibilities in most ways, whenever something was not going well at home, it was Christopher who had to endure grounding and aggressive conversations. Laura's toxic vision of Christopher being the sole male successor of the family constantly maintained pressure on Christopher. Despite both of his parents having no college education and having relatively routine jobs, Christopher had a target to ensure that he would be better than both of his parents and would not fail to get a degree. However, he simply stood no chance of affording tuition fees in respectable colleges, in addition, his grades at high school were average at best.
In the Summer of 2020, when Christopher would have enjoyed his last years of high school like most of his classmates, a tragic event hit the Avery family - James fell from the top of a light pole while working for a local company fixing electricity. He became disabled and his family practically lost a main breadwinner, family responsibilities for Laura and Christopher significantly increased. In addition, the family fell into debt due to insurance covering James' medical bills only partly. The family had to move upstate, to a much cheaper and isolated area, a few miles away from state prison. Such a chain of events turned Christopher into a responsible adult, every night he made sure that all three of his sisters had their homework ready, clothes neatly washed and folded, and food ready for the morning as Laura was working early shifts at a local hospital as a nurse, being mostly out working or sleeping due to excessive work hours. Christopher studied hard at night, took care of his sisters and assisted his father in doing basic stuff, from feeding to bathroom duties.
Christopher's hard and honest work paid off, he managed to secure a scholarship in Oregon and immediately started saving money up for a move, with a single purpose only - get the degree as soon as possible and return back to his hometown to bring his family out of hardships. He quite successfully graduated with an associate degree in criminal justice and quickly jumped into the workforce of Los Santos - working a couple of part-time jobs that paid average at best. Apart from routine jobs, his dreams of becoming a law enforcer, mainly driven by his honest and 'gotta-make-it-right' mentality, seemed as real as it gets. He is planning to do work for something honorable and make sure that his family will never struggle again.
