Instructions to the Applicant
The information you provide in this application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of San Andreas Peace Officer, in accordance with POST Commission Regulation 1953.
Disqualification
There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals "fail" background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

44. INTRODUCE YOUR CHARACTER. INCLUDE SOME BACKGROUND STORY, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, AND WHY THEY WANT TO JOIN THE DEPARTMENT.
- Matthew Warner was born and raised in Boulder, Colorado on January 2, 2002. From childhood, he was known as a sensitive and curious individual. He loved his neighbors and had many friends of the same age on the street where he grew up. A female detective who lived in their neighborhood in Boulder became an important inspiration in Matthew's life. She was Matthew's neighbor. He didn't see her much because of her busy schedule, and Matthew's family got along well with her. As a child, this detective's life reinforced Matthew's interest in law enforcement.
During his years at Fairview High School, Matthew did not excel academically, but he was notable for his athletic achievements. During his high school years, he played on the school's basketball team. He led his team to success in his position. One of his most notable achievements was his performance in the final game of the regional tournament, where he helped the school win the championship. This experience honed his skills in teamwork and effective decision-making under stress. After graduating from high school, he worked as a stage assistant at AEG Presents. That's why he moved to Los Santos. Pursuing his career in Santos, Matthew developed his organizational skills and composure. The challenges and responsibilities he faced in his roles made an impact on his life. Before starting this job, Matthew was impetuous, he accepted the first job offer he received, he didn't research his background and he didn't feel ready for this job, but he wanted to do it because he graduated from high school and didn't prepare for the university exam, he didn't have good grades. He would show up in advance to concert venues organized by his employer, and he would always help set up the concert platform, and it was a constant cycle. Shortly after Matthew started his career, the company he worked for faced various challenges that impacted its operations. In the following months, Matthew decided to leave his job and did not work anywhere else afterward.
Matthew was very impressed by his former neighbor, a detective, and her outlook on life. This made Matthew want to pursue a career in law enforcement and public safety. Matthew sees working at LSSD as an opportunity. After all these experiences in childhood acquaintanceship, high school achievements and the workplace, he wanted to prepare himself physically for the job. He joined a gym and started reading LSSD documentation, watching videos and learning about the department. Matthew now feels ready for the job not only physically but also psychologically. He believes he will succeed in this job. Inspired by all these events in his life, Matthew is trying to take solid steps for his career.
