Instructions to the Applicant
The information you provide in this application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of San Andreas Peace Officer, in accordance with POST Commission Regulation 1953.
Disqualification
There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals "fail" background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

44. INTRODUCE YOUR CHARACTER. INCLUDE SOME BACKGROUND STORY, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, AND WHY THEY WANT TO JOIN THE DEPARTMENT.
- Oman Mcclain was born at Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan, on January 15, 1999. Growing up in a middle-class family, Oman had a good upbringing. His mother was a bank clerk, while his father was a diesel technician who worked on semi-trucks. Oman received just A's and B's in kindergarten, middle school, and a portion of high school.
Oman was known as the chill individual amongst his peers; he never cried or became angry throughout his time in middle school or until graduation. Oman had a few close classmates, but he was not the type to approach a random classmate and strike up a conversation. From 9th grade through his senior year, Oman competed in basketball and almost won a state title for his basketball in his junior year. Oman had a father-son bond with his basketball instructor, Derek Phillips, also known as Coach P.
Oman had no idea what he wanted to do with his life after graduation. Oman knew basketball wasn't going to earn him any college scholarships, so he didn't have many options. Oman was pushed into attending a college fair by one of his close girlfriends, with whom he had a close connection from the Sandbox days. Her name was Charlotte, and she persuaded Oman to attend the college fair. When Oman arrived at the college fair, there were plenty of people set up with their profession booths. Oman didn't see anything until he came across a booth from the Michigan Police Department and the Wayne County Sheriff's Office. Oman approached both law enforcement agencies, but the Wayne County booth grabbed his interest the most; He had a pleasant discussion with Deputy Smart, who worked for the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Oman received some counsel from the college fair, which encouraged him to pursue a career in police enforcement. Oman had recently graduated from Detroit High School with a 3.4 GPA and wasn't sure what to tell his parents about his future plans. Oman conducted some research on his computer and discovered a sheriff's office in Los Santos is hiring. Oman conducted additional research and discovered that the Los Santos Sheriff's Department was conducting an open recruitment drive from February 18th to February 24th. Oman immediately told his parents about his desire and aspirations: he wanted to work in law enforcement and thought the Los Santos Sheriff's Department would be the ideal fit.
His parents were thrilled, but his father was a little optimistic because his only son was about to move out, which he didn't want. Oman's father asked him, "Are there any other agencies that are hiring nearby?" His response was, "Father, I know you don't want me to leave but this is a life-changing opportunity for me; this is my calling, Dad." Oman's parents have been saving money for his future career since he was a child, and they will help him secure a place to stay at the Pink Cage Motel as well as a flight to Los Santos. Oman will make the entire journey to Los Santos, where he hopes to become a deputy.
