Instructions to the Applicant
The information you provide in this application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of San Andreas Peace Officer, in accordance with POST Commission Regulation 1953.
Disqualification
There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals "fail" background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

44. INTRODUCE YOUR CHARACTER. INCLUDE SOME BACKGROUND STORY, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, AND WHY THEY WANT TO JOIN THE DEPARTMENT.
- Marlon Bennett is a Caucasian man raised in Morningwood, he was an intelligent child who supported his family and pursued his education to fulfill his dream of becoming successful in the future. He came from a low income background. His father worked as a mechanic in a Morningwood shop to help cover the family's expenses. Unfortunately, Marlon's father passed away in a tragic car accident while repairing an engine.
At the age of thirteen, Marlon found himself carrying the responsibilities of his studies and assisting his mother with household chores. Recognizing that Marlon was too young for such responsibilities, his mother sought employment to provide for her son and herself. After a brief period, Marlon's mother found work at a flower shop in Vespucci, which provided enough income to afford food, rent, and other necessities. After three years of this life, Marlon finally decided to take on the responsibilities left to him by his father. He sought employment to support his mother and live a more ordinary life.
Marlon found a job at Morningwood 24/7 and worked as a part time cashier, often rushing to work after school to avoid deductions from his pay. One day, he met a girl from his neighborhood who attended the same school and struggled with math. After helping her study. Marlon developed feelings for her and they soon entered into a relationship. After graduating from high school and still working at the 24/7 store, Marlon realized that his income was insufficient to support his family and make his girlfriend happy. It was during this period of consideration that a deputy sheriff visited the store for some donuts and a coffee break. Marlon provided excellent service and as the deputy paid for his purchase, he noticed the deputy counting a substantial amount of cash. This encounter prompted Marlon to make a life changing decision. He decided to pursue a career in the city's law enforcement, leading him to initiate the application process at the LSSD Davis station. (MINIMUM 250 WORDS)
