Instructions to the Applicant
The information you provide in this application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of San Andreas Peace Officer, in accordance with POST Commission Regulation 1953.
Disqualification
There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals "fail" background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

44. INTRODUCE YOUR CHARACTER. INCLUDE SOME BACKGROUND STORY, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, AND WHY THEY WANT TO JOIN THE DEPARTMENT.
- Mateo Lazcano was not born particularly different from other people. He was born into a family of well-to-do small entrepreneurs, who laid all the foundations in his life. They weren't poor, but they weren't very rich either. They simply lived well above the average standard. Mateo Lazcano did not suffer any kind of trauma during his childhood that would have affected his life, he was surrounded only by his loving family. This had its downside, of course, as they only showed him the good, that all people can be good, they never showed him the bad side. This was shown in Mateo's high school years, where he believed that all people were morally right. This is how he found himself in the middle of the abuse of a regular high schooler, his classmates did not look favorably on his positive attitude towards the world. This lasted for years, as Mateo just tolerated the abuse until a future friend came to his aid, who used the right of violence against the abusers, who seemingly also got tired of his daily abuse. From that moment on, Mateo knew he had a true friend who protected him from the rest of his classmates. This friendship has been continuing between them to this day. Thus, his school years were more tolerable, because his friend immediately intervened on Mateo's behalf when he was in trouble. In time, Mateo successfully finished high school with quite good academic results. He wanted to get into the big life right away, so Mateo immediately started working at a security company run by an acquaintance of his father's. It was a perfect start for the young man, as he was able to learn the meaning of responsibility and discipline in a short period of months. His parents saw this very well for Mateo, who supported him in everything they could.
He managed to make a lot of friends during his working hours, not to mention the nightlife that Los Santos offered him. But Mateo listened to the words of his father, who always raised his son to face everything with a sense of responsibility. The young man learned this very well, so he did not allow drugs or deliberate struggles to break into his life with impositions. But all good things must eventually come to an end. It was no different for Mateo.
The security company where he worked completely went bankrupt, so Mateo was forced to leave his job permanently, no matter how much he loved working in the security industry. This is how he spent most of his days, blaming himself for not doing everything he could to make his workplace profitable. But over time, the self-blame subsided as his father sat down with him to talk about the big things in life and dealing with disappointment. Mateo has always been closer to his father than to his mother, his father was the power figure in his eyes, a role model to look up to. So when his father told him about life's difficulties and taught him how to deal with disappointment, what happened? Mateo caught fire again, now non-stop looking for job opportunities to support himself, while his parents help him from the background.
He owes all of this to a voice that was there whenever he needed help or advice. Mateo looked at many jobs, but he couldn't commit to any of them, because he didn't find the discipline and responsibility that these blue-collar jobs would have given him. So one night, after drinking two bottles of wine, Mateo came face to face with a social media post offering him a job opportunity at LSSD. His eyes lit up, his determination reached its peak, and he immediately began a lengthy research on the basis of which he could apply to the academy and whether he was suitable at all. After such a flare-up, and after tens of hours of research, Mateo decided to really try his new career in Law Enforcement that he had planned for a long time. Of course, the initial naivety did not disappear from Mateo's person, thanks to which he might fall flat on his face, but he left this to the future because he doesn't want to rush things and end up disappointed.
