Instructions to the Applicant
The information you provide in this application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of San Andreas Peace Officer, in accordance with POST Commission Regulation 1953.
Disqualification
There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals "fail" background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

44. INTRODUCE YOUR CHARACTER. INCLUDE SOME BACKGROUND STORY, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, AND WHY THEY WANT TO JOIN THE DEPARTMENT.
- Lauren was born and raised in Los Santos, Rancho, specifically. Lauren grew up in an area with a high volume of crimes and from a very young age, she saw the impact of crime and how crime is reflected in the lives of the residents of the city since Rancho is full of gangs and criminal activity.
Compared to all her surroundings and her friends from the neighborhood, Lauren was brought up differently and was brought up to pursue justice and protect the vulnerable. From a young age, she admired the law enforcement officers in her city, who were always there to help her in all kinds of difficult situations she encountered in her harsh environment in Rancho.
She lives with her parents without siblings. She is the only child of her parents. Her mother was ill for many years with a variety of serious illnesses and this forced her father to be the sole breadwinner at home.
Lauren used to invest a lot of time in her studies but unfortunately, it wasn't enough, because her environment influenced her a lot and didn't allow her to develop properly and indeed grow and continue her studies after High School. Throughout her teenage years, Lauren volunteered at multiple community centers around Los Santos and always sought to contribute as much as she could in helping the city grow and get away from the serious crimes that were in her neighborhood. Lauren had no friends, she was lonely in her teenage years. She simply did not accept the fact that everyone around her was involved in crime and was trying to join one gang or another. She just wasn't attracted to it and she tried to stay away from it as much as possible.
A very traumatic event that changed all her thinking and ambitions was a few years ago, when some young gang members from Rancho tried to rob her father, and when he refused and did not surrender to them, they stabbed him in the stomach and he was hospitalized in serious condition. He has since returned to his job but there was the very point when Lauren realized she had and wanted to fight crime to the core, that was the moment she decided to join and become a Law Enforcer and help fight the crime by herself.
A few months ago, Lauren went to the Career Fair of the Sheriff's Department and got a vision about the role of a Law Enforcer. She understood and knew that this was exactly what she wanted to do and decided to take some time to think about it more deeply and consider the matter, after all, this was a very difficult decision that could even endanger her life, in the end.
Eventually, Lauren decided to go and apply for the entry-level in SD and is now seeking to earn the position of Deputy Sheriff Trainee.
She knows that the road ahead will be challenging, but she is ready to face all the obstacles that come her way with great courage and dedication to serve and protect her community and fight the crime in Los Santos.
