Instructions to the Applicant
The information you provide in this application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of San Andreas Peace Officer, in accordance with POST Commission Regulation 1953.
Disqualification
There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals "fail" background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

44. INTRODUCE YOUR CHARACTER. INCLUDE SOME BACKGROUND STORY, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, AND WHY THEY WANT TO JOIN THE DEPARTMENT.
- Marc Panosian was born in the South side of Los Santos on December the third, 1996. Marc has no siblings and was primarily raised by his mother. Marc's father, Jona had a quick temper and often caused tension & fights at his work places. This behaviour landed Jona in correctional facilities all across the state and had spent much of Marc's life in and out of prison, leaving him with a turbulent and unstable upbringing. The absence of Marc's father made a profound impact on Marc's life and the choices he would take as a juvenile.
Marc's father, despite his own struggles, shared stories of regret and missed opportunities with Marc during their rare moments of connection. These conversations left a lasting impression on Marc. Throughout Marc's growth, he always had his father in the back of his mind and when problems with school or peers became apparent, signs arose that Marc's temperament would struggle from the same behaviour as his father. With Marc's short temper and often violent resolution, he spent most days in detention and out of school on suspensions.
After barely graduating high school and achieving a diploma, Marc was imbued with the urge to change his life around and lead those around him on a better path. Witnessing his father's struggles and repeated incarcerations, Marc felt a deep sense of responsibility to break the cycle that seemed to have plagued his father's whole life. Marc knew he didn't want to follow in his father's footsteps, and he felt a strong motivation to make greater choices for the sake of his future. Many years of forming connections with correctional staff around the state of his father's imprisionments, lead Marc with the ambition to apply for the Sheriff's department.
As Marc stood at the corner mailbox, his application letter clutched tightly in his hand, a flood of memories and emotions washed over him. He thought of all the moments he spent with his father, both the good and the bad, the thoughts he had as he spent many evenings in detention. His mother's voice echoed in his mind. Marc was ready for a change.
