Instructions to the Applicant
The information you provide in this application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of San Andreas Peace Officer, in accordance with POST Commission Regulation 1953.
Disqualification
There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals “fail†background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

- Edmund Exley was born in Chumash, San Andreas, to Rachel and Douglas Exley in 1996. Rachel worked as a LSPD Vice and Support detective until 2016, and Douglas worked as a set designer for Richards Majestic Studios. During elementary school, the Exleys moved to Del Perro to be closer to the heart of the city. Edmund found this change to be difficult, as he left the Chumash lifestyle and his friends behind. Edmund grew up with his mother gone on long assignments for most of his early childhood and resorted to watching and reading detective and police stories to feel a connection with his parents. This led him to idolize his mother and see her as the pinnacle of what public service meant. Throughout middle and high school, Edmund lacked much success in academics and fell behind his peers in accolades and accomplishments. Edmund had always been committed to helping others, as his mother had noticed throughout most of his life. College didn't seem to be a likely option just yet, following disappointing standardized test scores. Thankfully, Edmund had the United States Military, and he enlisted in the United States Navy with his parents approval in 2014, following his graduation from high school. While somewhat athletic due to his mother's insistence on his physical training, Edmund wasn't exactly an Olympian. The Navy toughened him up and made Edmund appreciate fitness for its many benefits. Most importantly, though, Edmund's job as a fire technician brought him closer to his peers, and aboard submarines, he quickly developed important connections and friendships with his fellow enlisted personnel. For essentially the first time in his life, Edmund had experienced true comradeship and finally had discipline and purpose in his life. Edmund got out of the Navy in 2018 and pursued a college education thanks to government support from his service. Edmund attended a university in Liberty City where he pursued a degree in education and graduated in 2022. Edmund knew that he wanted to help people again, and originally he thought becoming a teacher would fill that gap in his life. Unfortunately, he was just never able to foster that same connection he had in the Navy when attempting to join the education system, and he quickly felt like he was going down the wrong path. Edmund knew that he had to get that camaraderie back in his life, and he moved back to Los Santos following his graduation as his mother began suffering from spinal cancer. Edmund spent most of his time caring for his mother, but unfortunately she died following a risky surgery to save her life. Edmund is now determined to make his mother's dream come true and follow in her footsteps with the LSSD. Edmund is a troubled and confused man who doesn't always know what he wants in life, but he has a caring attitude and faith that he's somehow on the right path. Edmund is adaptive and easy to work with in groups, but it isn't always easy for him to step up as a leader when something is risky or a new concept to him, although he has been working on this. Edmunds father abused a lot of substances, such as alcohol, when he was younger, which negatively affected his relationship with him. This has led Edmund to generally disdain and refrain from addictive substances like drugs and alcohol, and he still feels distrust towards his father, especially for his lack of help with his mother's medical situation. Edmund is also a very serious and disciplined man and has a hard time letting his walls down in front of others in his life, which can affect his relationships with friends and family. Most of all, Edmund is dedicated, as he doesn't really have much of a plan after Los Santos.(MINIMUM 250 WORDS)
