CRITICAL INCIDENT BRIEFING

A Deputy involved shooting occurred on 01/MAY/2021 at approximately 17:30 in the area of Davis, Los Santos. Several Deputies responded to a vehicle pursuit regarding a blue Dilettante. The pursuit terminated on Davis Avenue and MacDonald Street, when the suspect decamped in a parking bay and entered a local restaurant. Deputies who were in hot pursuit followed by chasing on foot.
The suspect, when being confronted while being held at gunpoint, was commanded to stand still and refrain from any sudden movement. The suspect instead turned his back to the Deputies and began to walk around and toward the kitchen area. At this moment, a taser was deployed. In the meanwhile, an arrest team was formed, consisting of three deputies.
The established arrest team moved up into the kitchen area, believing the taser deployment had been effective. At this point, the suspect reached towards a knife block and grabbed an 8" knife. The suspect immediately lunged his way in a striking motion with the knife. Several Deputies opened fire on the suspect as he continued to walk forward and make aggressive swipes with the knife. In this action, one of the arresting deputies was seriously injured by the knife. The injured Deputy is currently recovering from their injuries, the suspect was pronounced dead on scene.
