Re: (( Frequently Asked Questions ))
Hi Damian,
we do not currently have a timeframe for when continuous recruitment will be open. It depends how quickly we're able to advance current trainees out of the field training program and open up more slots.

Re: (( Frequently Asked Questions ))
Hi, we're still working our way through our current batch of trainees so we're still TBD on a date for opening employment again. Keep checking back, or, subscribe to the forum topic on the DST employment page so you can be sent an email if/when they reopen.Lee Goodwin wrote: Sun Mar 09, 2025 11:43 pm Will applications open back up this month, or are y'all waiting until April?

Re: (( Frequently Asked Questions ))
Are new DST's placed into the Correctional Facilities as Correctional Deputies? If so, what's the timeline for going from Corrections to Patrol or another Specialized Role? I was interested in joining LSPD over LSSD, because they can do private academies, but it'll be around 3 months before they reopen their applications and I might just suck it up to experience Correctional Duties if I have to.

we no longer have a formal custody position, as confinement post arrest now fall under SADCR and their prisons. In character, your character is assigned as a Custody Deputy at a county correctional facility, where they will typically spend 1-2 years before having the opportunity to attend patrol school and be assigned to a station as a patrol deputy.
We also no longer host actual academy sessions, these are now also part of the NPC process. This has been replaced with the Validated Physical Assessment Test (VPAT), which can be scheduled privately if you're absolutely unable to attend it with other applicants.
Please review the job posting for more information.

Re: (( Frequently Asked Questions ))
Interesting, so how would that work? You complete all necessary steps of the hiring process and then in-character you'd have done your time in the academy, done 1-2 years in a county facility, and now your onto a Field Training Phase as a Patrol-Assigned Deputy?Ximena Navarro wrote: Sun Mar 23, 2025 6:13 pmHey,Enzo Catenacci wrote: Sun Mar 23, 2025 6:01 pm Are new DST's placed into the Correctional Facilities as Correctional Deputies? Re: (( Frequently Asked Questions ))
Because you'd IC do your time in the academy for around 1-2 years, what is the prime age for your applicant to be? You can be 19 1/2 at the time of the application and then turn 20 upon being hired, but factoring the academy you'd be 21 or 22 when put onto patrol. If I were to do that pathway, would I be better off to have my character be 22 in-character/in-city and stating on any form that I'm 19 or 20 IC?

It's best practice to apply on the age your character is ingame and early twenties (20-23) is fineEnzo Catenacci wrote: Tue Apr 01, 2025 5:25 am Because you'd IC do your time in the academy for around 1-2 years, what is the prime age for your applicant to be?
