Instructions to the Applicant
The information you provide in this application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of San Andreas Peace Officer, in accordance with POST Commission Regulation 1953.
Disqualification
There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals "fail" background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

44. INTRODUCE YOUR CHARACTER. INCLUDE SOME BACKGROUND STORY, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, AND WHY THEY WANT TO JOIN THE DEPARTMENT.
- Jack Adamski was born as the son of third-generation Polish Americans in Los Santos. His father, an employee with the Los Santos State Gas Company, and his mother, a cleaner. He is an only child. The Adamskis first settled in East Los Santos before moving to a better apartment block in the Vespucci area, specifically around Goma Street. As an only child, Jack fell into delinquency with local youths, and it was only with intervention from a guidance counsellor in Junior High that he averted a possible fall into the criminal lifestyle - towards his latter years in High School, after previously poor grades, Adamski knuckled down and got his way through Vespucci High, eventually getting his diploma unlike many of his friends, most of whom dropped out.
Adamski spent the next few years working in a dead-end call center up in Mission Row. He hated it, but it paid the bills. He considered saving up to apply to study for a Bachelor's Degree part-time, however, the salary at Smart Solutions was decidedly lacking. After talking over with some work friends - who suggested he get into policing - Adamski decided to apply for the L.S.S.D., thinking it to be the best chance to make a living considering his lacklustre qualifications. Not only will he finally get some decent money, but he'll be able to do part-time study: evening and night classes to get a degree and better himself in college. He's thinking of doing English Literature; he wants to be considered well-read, or respectable, partly out of shame of coming from a poor background. Finally, being a deputy offers the same kind of camaraderie he had as a kid, and he misses that since he's lost contact with so many friends - who've either got the hell out of dodge, died, or are in prison.
It's a dangerous profession, but Adamski thinks he has the gumption for it. He hasn't had a sheltered upbringing, and he knows what the streets are like - he thinks it's better to take a risk like this to get what you want than suffering at a dead-end job for the rest of your life.
