Instructions to the Applicant
The information you provide in this application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of San Andreas Peace Officer, in accordance with POST Commission Regulation 1953.
Disqualification
There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals "fail" background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

44. INTRODUCE YOUR CHARACTER. INCLUDE SOME BACKGROUND STORY, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, AND WHY THEY WANT TO JOIN THE DEPARTMENT.
- Terrence Russell Hall born January 21st 1992 in the City of Los Santos into a family of three siblings, Terrence being the youngest. His family was stricken in a poverty and drug infested area of Davis just barely making ends meet, his father, the main bread winner worked an honest living in the construction industry on various booming developments around the city in an effort to drag their family out of the gutter. In Terrence's youngest years he came to the understanding of his fathers back breaking work and lifestyle, not to mention his crippling addiction to being on the bottle. It definitely took an effect on Terry watching his family being torn apart with his fathers alcoholism, but nonetheless was conditioned to it.
Terrence for the most part cruised through school, he wasn't top of the class nor bottom but he wasn't far from it either. It's to be expected that Terry had some bad influences around him, his friends, mostly kids from his neighborhood were connected with various groups and gangs in the area, hoppers, runners and some mid-level dealers plagued the community. Terry tried to stray away from the game, but he'd be lying to himself if he wasn't tempted by it.
All in all Terry set himself on the straight and narrow path to go technical college, despite the bad influences and actors around him he sought to earn an honest living thanks to being brought up in a shaky yet solemn family. Terry dabbled with the idea of becoming a welder, perhaps a maintenance engineer based on all the talk he's been hearing from his father on how good they earn. Regardless, he pursued carpentry based on idea that he's good with his hands.
Upon graduating Terry immediately joined the workforce with his fathers help, they had the opportunity to build a stronger bond and in hindsight it was more convenient for the both of them. He embraced the job and built his craft for carpentry, swatting away his fathers stigma for having "soft hands" by sticking it out despite the culture. However unexpectedly, many developers around the city went bust due to grants not being dished out by the state and lay offs were imminent, he and many others fell victim to losing their jobs.
Terry chased after smaller jobs and struggled to find work consistently, with the thought looming over his head that he's no longer unionized, nor having a pension or any job security he sought at the idea of perhaps joining the Los Santos Police Department. It was appealing, with competitive if not better money than what he was earning before. He sent his packet in and passed the screening and preliminary examinations, he was set for class of 08-14 in the Los Santos Police Academy. After 24 rigorous weeks of training and with a total of 920 accumulated hours, he graduated and was assigned to the infamous Mission Row Patrol Division dubbed as 'The Castle' which was in the South Central Area, Terry was due to endure the next 12 months of field training as a probationary officer.
The years following, Terry grew to embracing the job and proudly wore his uniform to work each and every day to show face to the colleagues and community that he's got to know over the years, there's no disputing that no day was the same and it wasn't easy at times, but that's what drove him to hit the streets and tame the circus. However all good things come to an end, out of the blue his father was diagnosed with liver failure due to his decades long of alcohol abuse. Terry was faced with a difficult decision, watch his father and business fold, or step away as a police and step up to take care of his family and business. After 6 years and some change of service, Terry resigned from the Los Santos Police Department.
There's no denying that it was a huge culture shock to Terry, from pushing a black and white around the city to wearing your typical blue collar attire, attending meetings, talking to suits and city officials for permits to continue shop. His fathers business was private contracting in the construction industry. At first it felt appealing to Terry, being his own boss, working his own hours, however the stress wore him down more than any other bogus call he's been on as the police.
Following his fathers recovery from his disease, and reinstating himself as the company director, Terry decided to step down and turn a new leaf in his life, however he was faced with the trouble of his San Andreas POST certificate being expired. The ultimatum of returning to the LSPD was a no-go hearing its current state of affairs, despite his ego, the man swallowed it and submitted himself to enrolling as a trainee with the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department.
