[DST] Lawrence Stuckton [DQ]

Post by Lawrence Stuckton »

Instructions to the Applicant

The information you provide in this application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of San Andreas Peace Officer, in accordance with POST Commission Regulation 1953.

  • It is your responsibility to complete this form and provide all required information.

  • This document must be filled out electronically and printed.

  • You must respond to all items and questions. If a question does not apply to you, write "D.N.A." (does not apply) in the space provided for your response.

  • Send the completed form to your background investigator or the agency to which you are applying. Do NOT send the form to POST.

Disqualification

There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals "fail" background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

BOTTOM LINE: You are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and truthful responses.

  • Lawrence Stuckton, a 25-year-old man born in Los Santos, was raised in a soldier's family. Growing up near his rude and even tyrannical father definitely left a big trace on his behavior. The boy spent most of his childhood watching how his father's masculinity and desire to control everything were detrimental to his wife (Lawrence's mother). Young Larry was certainly surprised to witness how his mother, once a lovely wife, became a hostage in her own marriage. She disliked being used to serve two men and grew filled with anger and apathy towards her husband and their son.

One of the most crucial moments in Larry Stuckton's life occurred when "that woman" (as he refers to his own mother) made the dumbest choice of her life and divorced Stuckton senior, leaving their common child in her husband's care.

Being a child in a single-parent family is tough, and it's even tougher when your only parent is serving in the military; it poses a serious problem for every kid. Practically, this problem manifests as a strong deficit of his father's attention. Consequently, the only way to find some communication is to become a total extrovert.

The lack of communication between Lawrence and his parents became the cause of his getting lost in his own wishes and dreams. The poor boy didn't even have the opportunity to receive advice from an elder and closer figure. Such conditions merely reinforced his belief that his life was becoming more meaningless every day.

The only thing that saved the situation was boxing, a sport where young Stuckton invested his rage and misunderstanding of his own life into energy and even showed some good results.

Graduating from high school was one of the most difficult periods in Lawrence's life. He had a total absence of knowledge of what he wanted to do with his life and practically no aspirations for his future. Then came his father's words, "Join the army, son." At that moment, it didn't seem like the worst option.

Signing a contract practically saved the life of Lawrence Stuckton Junior. In the army, he found everything he had ever dreamed of: a strong brotherhood, helpful comrades, career growth, and discipline. He attained the stability he always wanted. Every month, he received a salary for his work, and he knew he'd never be fired because of some economic crisis.

Routine. That's what led him to leave the military. Doing the same thing almost every day of his life began to grate on his nerves. Permanently moving from one place to another and constantly being surrounded by men in the same uniform tired him out.

Now, he faces reality. In civilian life, you really need to fight for a job, for every opportunity, and even after winning, nothing is guaranteed. You encounter people full of anger, and everyone sees something negative in you.

So here's the situation now: Lawrence Stuckton, a 25-year-old man, an extrovert, a man of his word, practically dependent on his social circle, a lonely individual, someone who seeks stability, a person unaccustomed to civilian life and sometimes struggling to control his own anger. This man has found a great opportunity to invest all the skills he has acquired and reintegrate into society. He believes that serving in the Sheriff's Department will offer the same camaraderie, discipline, and stability. Additionally, he is confident that it will bring more money, more opportunities for personal growth, and perhaps even a lifelong commitment.

I'd like to conclude by discussing his motivation to join the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department. It can be linked to the structured environment he became accustomed to in the army. He prefers everything to be settled, with a strong hierarchy of people, each having their own function. Of course, there is also the stability he can attain in a structure like this, in terms of payment and benefits. He appreciates the difference between the army and the SD; in the SD, he won't be obligated to depend on his military unit and its location (as every unit changes its location every couple of years, preventing him from establishing himself in one place and essentially making him a nomad). The reputation of the LSSD also played a significant role in his decision. He enjoys being a part of professional organizations like this and strives to be a professional himself.
