Instructions to the Applicant
The information you provide in this application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of San Andreas Peace Officer, in accordance with POST Commission Regulation 1953.
Disqualification
There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals “fail†background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

- Born to a poor African American household in South Central Los Santos, Gervonte Woods had a rough childhood. His father, who was constantly in and out of jail was almost never present to guide him through his childhood. When he was? He was usually taking his anger out on his son, abusing him. His mother, a reformed drug addict usually never cared what Gervonte did. Due to this, Gervonte began to misbehave from a young age. Him and his group of his friends were constantly troublemaking. From a young age, Gervonte was used to fighting, running from the police and commiting other various petty crimes, often just for an adrenaline rush.
Gervonte's days of crime would swiftly come to an end. While stealing himself a beer from a liquor store, he was confronted by a officer who ended up detaining. Instead of sending him to jail, the officer ended up conversing with him for a good hour and eventually letting him go. Gervonte didn't think much of it at first. However, after going home and thinking about the interaction he had, Gervonte realized that the path he was going down would either end up with him dead or in a cell.
He ended up encountering the officer a few more times. He began to develop a bond that he never had with his father or any of his older brothers. His grades began to rise in school, and he stopped hanging out with the kids that constantly encouraged him to do bad. He eventually graduated and was unfortunately not accepted into any colleges. He was too poor to pay for it himself, and he had no means of putting himself into thousands of dollars of debt to get an education. Instead, Devonte ended up enlisting into the marine corps, where he served for the next three years.
After his service, Gervonte was left to fend for himself on the streets of Los Santos. He had no interests in college anymore and couldn't hold a stable job. Gervonte was homeless, and on the brink of abusing drugs to escape the harsh reality he faced. While on his way to a motel room he booked to stay for the next few days, he spotted a billboard out of the corner of his eye. It was a Los Santos Sheriff's Department billboard. He was intrigued by the idea of becoming a deputy but wasn't interested at first. After a few days had gone by, Gervonte was almost out of money. He didn't have much time to think anymore. He decided he'd go to a library and submit his application to the Sheriff's Department, and get himself a part time job at a gas station to provide for himself in the meantime.
