In the early hours of 13 June 2019, Operation Safe Streets Detectives conducted an arrest on Herbert Cantwell in the unincorporated area of Del Perro after an investigation regarding an assault with a deadly weapon that occurred on Red Desert Avenue and Marathon Avenue. Mr. Cantwell was found with a recently discharged pistol whose caliber matched the assault. A GSR test confirmed that Mr. Cantwell recently fired a weapon. Mr. Cantwell was charged with FB 206. Assault with a Deadly Weapon, FB 706. Brandishing a Deadly Weapon, and FC 707. Discharging A Firearm in Public. Mr. Cantwell was transported to Puerto Del Sol station for processing and was arraigned at Twin Tower Correctional Facility. The Los Santos County Superior Court reached a plea deal with Mr. Cantwell, where he will serve four years in state prison with all sentences concurrent.
