5.2 Please provide a link to a timestamped screenshot of your administrative record: 5.3 Please provide your User Control Panel (UCP) username:
  • CrunchySpine
5.3 Please provide a link to your GTA World Forum Account: 5.4 Please provide proof of your Double Faction Permission, if applicable: 5.5 Are you in possession of a working microphone & Teamspeak 3?
  • Yes
5.6 Elaborate on your prior GTA World roleplaying experience:
  • Rick currently is living off the remaining basic housing and food allowance provided by his GI Bill during his stent in college. Rick has just finished his time in college with a science degree but is struggling to find employment opportunities in Los Santos. As well as employment, due to his financial situation and him being a minimalist, he is temporarily staying at the Hope Health Community Center. Due to the good weather in the city, Rick has traded in his Corolla to buy an Akuma because the gas milage is better and he has most of his belongings in storage. He has been trying to find jobs everywhere, including gas stations, government, fire departments and local businesses around town. He’s only been able to find low income jobs such as the gas stations because of the retention rate, assumably because of the gang populations and poor behavior around them. Rick being an Afghanistan veteran, is no stranger to disgruntled people and high risk situations. Rick’s personal life is pretty baron, partly because of his inability to relate to most people and being so new to town. He mainly spends his day working, then returning home and watching a few shows before waking up and repeating this schedule.
5.7 Please briefly explain what you intend to bring to the faction in terms of roleplay quality and character development (Min. 200 words):
  • Being an actual service member, I can portray Rick more accurately as a veteran towards other characters. From the start, I have intended Rick to be a realistic human with emotions, often having breakdowns and acting rash in certain situations. He’s a very complex person in many aspects. Decision making is a great attribute for him. In situations where he must act quickly and swiftly, he’s able to take the reigns, construct a reasonable plan and execute it. Rick will follow instructions to the best of his physical and mental ability, but also will have a caring emotional side to him. I think this job will have plenty of situations that can make-or-break Rick. More than likely, he will have plenty of alone time and periods filled with nothing happening. After his service in the Navy, he started to retain his feelings and go internal because he was unable/not allowed to express himself while working with fear of being reprimanded. Ever since, he will hold his tongue in situations where he feels he must speak up. His mind will replay events in his head about past mistakes and think about his friends who perished. On the other hand, he misses the structure of government that the Navy gave him. The whole day was planned from when to wake up and everything in between until it was time to sleep. He’s been institutionalized by the military and craves the same brotherhood and way of life. Rick will thrive as a custody assistant when duty calls his name but may break when left alone.
5.8 Please write your intended character's backstory (Min. 300 words):
  • I intend to Roleplay as a late 20's white male from Denver, Colorado who has recently been honorably discharged from the Navy. His first name is Rick, but he usually goes by his last name which is Jones because that was the etiquette was in the Navy. Rick enlisted when he was 18 and was sent all over for his job such as, Japan, Australia, Iran, Guam. If the Navy has been there, he had been there too. His role in the Navy was a Corpsman, and he had seen everything from battle to sitting in the base clinic treating athlete's foot. During his time in, his sense of humor, thinking, political views and outlook on life shifted. He was more cynical, yet aware of his surroundings and how he portrayed himself. It was hard to relate to others and was usually shunned for his changed opinions so he eventually became quiet. Rick would speak only when he felt comfortable around people or had to accomplish anything at work. Rick originally intended to complete his guaranteed 20 years in the service and retire, but the stress and his emotions felt unbearable to keep suppressed and decided to leave. Rick is discharged after 5 years of active duty service in summer of 2016 and returns back to Denver. Rick moves back in with his parents temporarily for a couple weeks before he can find his own apartment and get back on his feet. After finally getting his apartment all set up, he started classes at the community college near him to finish his core classes. He understands his quietness and isn't blind to the fact that he has changed, so he uses this as an opportunity to try and break free of his mold and try to make friends at the college. After many attempts to find common ground with his very young classmates, he still finds it hard to connect. He's old, and sees the world for how it truly is but they don't see that. No one does, to him at least. His work ethic and dedication has already put him in the final stretch of finishing his science Bachelors and finishes after 4 years. His existing credits applied from the military and core classes have helped him essentially get his associates in under 7 months. But Rick is still emotionally detached from his "peers'' and has to do something about it soon after he graduates. He sees a tourist ad on TV for San Andreas and within a week, his apartment was packed up and he was in San Andreas.
Rick is now in San Andreas living in the community center, but it's not a problem to him, he's content. Rick sees San Andreas as his final destination, where he will find his clique, his niche and his new friends. He thinks, "This place has every kind of person in the world, I'll find someone who I can relate to.”. Rick, with his new found motivation, tries once again to find his people and purpose in society. He's going to cafe's, gyms, and car meetups, just anything. He finds some friends and occasionally hangs out with them, sleeping at their place for a few nights at a time. Some friends from the military have also gotten out and found work as a police officer, and he considers that as well. He knows the comradery and discipline is involved in being an officer and soon becomes a serious consideration for him. He'll have to make up his mind soon before he becomes too emotionally unstable.
