On the 25th of November, detectives with the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department unveiled the grim discovery of the murder of an unnamed sheriff's department informant after discovering their body on the Olympic Freeway. The Detective Bureau, after a through investigation, were able to identify three suspects as perpetrators of the crime and subsequently obtained warrants for their arrests. The suspects are identified as the following: Hector "Demon" DeCastro who faces charges of FA 003. Capital Murder and FC 630. Possession of a Prohibited Firearm or Explosive Device. The two other suspects, Yvette "Lenta" Rocha and Camila "Garra" Delgado, both face charges of FA 003. Capital Murder for their role and involvement in the murder. The suspects are well documented gang members with ties and affiliations to a local gang in Rancho. As of December 3rd, all three suspects have since been arrested and are in police custody. Due to their gang status and affiliation, they are currently being housed in protective custody at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility as they await trial.

As a direct result of the murder, the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department also carried out Operation Last Laugh on the early morning hours of the 28th of November. The joint operation by the Detective Bureau and Special Enforcement Bureau targeted several properties belonging to high profile gang members from the same local gang. Basic patrol cars were also present from the patrol division for support. Deputies with the Los Santos County Sheriff's Department were able to seize and recover eight firearms, a quarter million dollars in US currency and several pounds of a variety of narcotics upon the conclusion of the operation.
