Many Los Santos County deputies said their last farewells this past Saturday to their Sandy Shores Station. This comes in response to a loss of contract between the Sheriff’s Department and the City of Sandy Shores following an unforeseen tax expenditure loss. The Sandy Shores Station will now operate at specific hours throughout the day and is managed by Paleto Bay Station. Personnel assigned to the Sandy Shores Station have been transferred to the Paleto Bay Station which will now be the operational station for all Sandy Shores, Harmony, and Grapeseed patrol units.

The Paleto Bay Sheriff's Station was founded in 1935 to provide more local policing services to the furthest reaches of Los Santos County. The station was originally designed to serve the fledgling community of Paleto Bay in the northwestern corner of Los Santos County. In 1973, the City of Paleto Bay incorporated and officially launched a contract law enforcement program with the Sheriff's Department.
