SHERIFF GARY HEWITT
Sheriff Gary Hewitt was elected the 34th Sheriff of Los Santos County in 2022. Distinguishing himself as a straight shooter who speaks truth to power, Sheriff Hewitt commands the largest Sheriff’s Department in the United States, with nearly 18,000 budgeted sworn and professional staff.
Throughout his career, Hewitt has been assigned to several special response and incident management teams. He has volunteered with schools and mentoring programs, and has worked with the Department’s youth Explorer program.
Prior to his election as Sheriff, Gary Hewitt served multiple years in the Association of Los Santos Deputy Sheriffs as a Board Member in order to ensure that the rights of future Deputy Sheriffs would be protected.

EXECUTIVE AND COMMAND STAFF
 Undersheriff Jonathan Medina A graduate of class 287, Jonathan L. Medina has been on the Department since 1995. He was one of the first to be promoted to the rank of Captain under Sheriff Joseph Cline. As a deputy, his custody assignments included Twin Towers before going to patrol at East Los Santos and Davis Stations. Jonathan Medina also served on the Operation Safe Street Bureau’s (OSS) Gang Enforcement Team, investigating violent crimes by gang members, and at Gang Surveillance Unit. As a sergeant, Medina was assigned at Gang Enforcement Team. He also returned to OSS as a detective supervisor and operations sergeant. Medina promoted to Lieutenant in the same bureau In early 2017, Medina promoted to the rank of Captain. He served at Operation Safe Streets Bureau before transferring to the Detective Division Headquarters to serve as Chief of Detectives. In January 2022, Medina promoted to Assistant Chief and moved to Countywide Operations. Throughout his tenure with the LSSD, Undersheriff Medina has dedicated his career to community engagement programs. He oversaw the Youth Athletic League at Olympic Station, managed several Block Club programs, mentored teenaged young men in the South Los Santos area, and participated in the Department sponsored E-Pal Program for grade school children. He is an avid fisherman and loves watching college football, and outdoor activities, mainly running and biking.  |

 Assistant Sheriff Brandon Correa In 1989, Correa graduated from the Academy and began his law enforcement career working in various custody facilities before going to patrol at both East Los Santos and Davis stations. He also served at the Special Assignments Office at Davis Station. When he promoted to sergeant in 2005, Correa served with the Operation Safe Streets Bureau (OSSB) as the team sergeant for the Davis area team. As a lieutenant, Correa worked out of the Hall of Justice as the operations lieutenant for the Detective Division Division. Correa promoted to Captain in 2018, overseeing the Detective Division as its acting division commander. He played a significant role in reform across the Operation Safe Streets Bureau and was responsible for much of the administrative oversight of the Division. In early 2019, Correa promoted to Chief, overseeing the Administrative Services Division from an executive purview. He promoted reform in field training and the Basic Sergeant Supervisory School (BSSS). Correa transferred his assignment to the Central Patrol Division, overseeing the Department's 23 patrol stations, shortly after. Correa promoted to Assistant Sheriff over Countywide Operations in early 2023, where he currently resides. Correa has a bachelor's degree in Criminial Justice from the University of Los Santos. In the course of his career, he has traveled throughout the country to provide tactical training to various agencies, including military personnel preparing for deployment. He has received numerous awards and recognition, including Distinguished Service and Meritorious Service awards, and commendations for his efforts in multiple life-threatening situations. Correa comes from a family with a history of both law enforcement and military service, his father and brothers all having served in various capacities. He currently resides in the South Bay of Los Santos with his wife of 22 years and two teenage children. |
 Division Chief Nelson Moler In 1982, Moler graduated from the Academy and began his law enforcement career working at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility before transferring to the Paleto Bay Sheriff's Station as a patrol deputy, later serving at the Special Enforcement Bureau (SEB). When he promoted to Sergeant in 1991, Moler returned to the Paleto Bay Sheriff's Station as a Field Sergeant. He played a highly significant role in rewriting and formalizing the Department's policy with regard to radio communications and brevity. In 2002, Chief Moler took on the assignment of a Watch Commander at the Paleto Bay Sheriff's Station. While fulfilling his assignment, Moler selflessly managed and devoted himself to the Communications & Fleet Management Bureau while also contributing to the Training Bureau. In 2011, Moler promoted to Captain and oversaw the Paleto Sheriff's Station. The main Communications Center of the Communications & Fleet Management Bureau was named after him in honor of his continuous dedication, going above and beyond the expectations of his function. Chief Moler promoted to the rank of Commander in 2017 and was assigned to the Central Patrol Division, overseeing six of the Department's patrol station. In 2022, Moler promoted to the rank of Chief, overseeing the Special Operations Division. |
 Division Chief Gregory Reznik
Born in Los Santos County, Chief Gregory Reznik began his career with the Los Santos County Sheriff’s Department as a trainee in 1989. Upon graduation, he worked in various assignments within the Custody Division at the Los Santos County Men's Central Jail. Chief Reznik spent the next ten years as a patrol deputy within the East Los Santos Station. As a patrol deputy, he developed a wide-ranging background in patrol operations, including Field Training Officer for five years and Gang Enforcement Deputy for two years. Chief Reznik was promoted to detective in 1999 and served as a gang investigator inside the Operation Safe Streets Bureau (OSS) assigned to the East Los Santos Station. In 2003, Chief Reznik was promoted to the rank of sergeant and transferred to the Davis Station. During his assignment, he served as a gang enforcement team area sergeant for the city of Davis. In 2005, he was appointed to the position of team sergeant within the Operation Safe Streets Bureau (OSS) where he remained for the next three years before being assigned to the newly established Gang Surveillance Unit as a training sergeant in 2008. He was appointed as the operations lieutenant for three years and the acting captain for more than two years. In 2016, Chief Reznik was promoted to the rank of captain and given the honor of commanding the Operation Safe Streets Bureau. Chief Reznik was promoted to the rank of commander in 2022 and assigned to Detective Division Headquarters. In 2023, Chief Reznik was promoted to the rank of chief and remained in his assignment at the Department’s Detective Division. |
