Instructions to the Applicant

The information you provide in this application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of San Andreas Peace Officer, in accordance with POST Commission Regulation 1953.

  • It is your responsibility to complete this form and provide all required information.

  • This document must be filled out electronically and printed.

  • You must respond to all items and questions. If a question does not apply to you, write “D.N.A.” (does not apply) in the space provided for your response.

  • Send the completed form to your background investigator or the agency to which you are applying. Do NOT send the form to POST.

Disqualification

There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals “fail” background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

BOTTOM LINE: You are responsible for providing complete, accurate, and truthful responses.

  • Once upon a time in the heart of Rome in one of its quiet neighborhoods, a young girl named Sarah was born into a well-respected and not very well-off family consisting of her parents and one sister. She lived in a calm and peaceful environment. Her parents were empathetic and compassionate towards her and her sister. They provided her with all her needs as they worked tirelessly and kept her out of struggle. She enjoyed a delightful childhood as she got raised on good local manners and principles guiding and showing her the path to being a meaningful and useful person. She has been a very sociable person who has a unique attitude that makes a positive impression on others from the first contact ever since she was a child. Her parents motivated and encouraged her to have a well-rounded education.

Since she joined the first day of elementary school, she excelled in it and was a clever student academically and physically. She embraced various activities during her educational journey that kept her in touch with people and learning more. She used to spend the summer and holidays playing with her sister and cousins. It was a habit of one of her relatives, a third-degree cousin who was mainly living in The United States, to spend the summer holiday with her and her other cousins playing and joying. They grew up together and felt something between them that grew stronger with the passage of time. Later, they got into a serious relationship and discovered that they really fit together like puzzle pieces. They were very close to each other as he always was there for her supporting and encouraging her during their teenage. After her graduation, he proposed to her and got married officially with their families' approval pleasingly considering that Sarah and her lover are not close in their family tree pedigree. A few months later. Sarah agreed with her husband’s decision to move with him to the US and live their lovely life together there since her husband found an opportunity for a well-paying job in the government as an employee in Internal Revenue Service. However, his dream job was to join the force of sheriff and becomes an influential sheriff deputy, serving his town and the community he spent his childhood in, but was a person with a small hole in the heart which was diagnosed by the recruitment medical officers the first drive of his that got him excluded.

Once the couple arrived in The U.S., they started looking for their own place instead of living in her husband’s father’s house which they managed to do by purchasing a moderate apartment in the center of the city. Sarah’s husband was well-aware of her wife’s obsession with flowers and that’s why he did his best to save every penny of his personal expense to buy her a charming flower store to work at during her free time. He delighted her with this surprise when it was their first wedding anniversary celebration. She was very excited and over the moon, and he even encouraged her to do what she likes. Although Sarah had a congenital defect in her womb they discovered after a few years of their marriage, her husband never lost the faith of his love for her nor abandoned her. On the contrary, he strived to exert all the possible efforts to cheer her up, make her always happy and deter her from anything that might do bad to her.

One day, while the couple were driving on their way back after they had spent two days in a tourist resort, a speeding truck, driven by a drunk driver, slammed into them from the back and made them swerve off the road crashing into a palm tree. Sarah made it with no critical injuries, but her husband was injured badly and his death was declared upon arrival at the nearest hospital sadly. That incident left a very huge gap in her heart and made her fall into deep depression and despair.

While Sarah was delving into her husband’s documents and affairs after his death, she discovered that he had left behind a trail of debts due to the loan he took to buy her the store and that he didn’t pay it off fully till that moment. The weight of financial obligations pressed heavily on her shoulder, and later made her painful decision to sell the flower store to pay the debts. She was able to pay the remaining debts, regain stability in her life, and repair her husband’s car which was priceless and very valuable for her husband.

Sarah had to look for another job to do to be able to spend on herself and her needs. She wasn’t pleased with the kind of jobs she does as she may get laid off at any time unexpectedly. One day, she went to meet an old friend and colleague at ULSA who is studying for a master's degree there. Sarah was spending some quality time with her friend in that time waiting an hour for her next lecture to start, and they noticed the new sheriff's inauguration happening in the playground of the university. The ceremony proceeded with speeches about the dedication of the new sheriff and the other division chiefs in serving within the department and clarifying their efforts in protecting the town, but Sarah's mind was elsewhere. She couldn't help but think about her husband whose dream was to become a sheriff deputy which started haunting Sarah from that moment seemingly. She thought she can be a good candidate for such a challenging yet rewarding and respected career during the new sheriff's speech as she got impressed by their professionalism, dedication and the way the new sherrif inspired the community which encouraged and made her think of taking a serious step of pursuing a career within Sheriffs. After a lengthy period of time thinking and analyzing when she went home, she decided to embark on a new journey of self-discovery and put in all her efforts. She began researching and learning more eagerly about the job description of a sheriff deputy, the nature of work and the required qualifications, immersing herself in the world of policing, and crime combating and prevention. She aims for being a part of the department. On top of that, she was also mainly seeking a respected job that has a noticeable value for her society along with competitive salary, regular pay raise, good benefits and retirement plans. She sat at her computer and looked up for more information about the job on Google and Sherrif's Website. She found the recruitment is open asking for new heroes in the town as she eavesdropped some deputies talking about the new drive and their intention of accepting new candidates. She felt excited and didn't hesitate to submit a ride-along request to get adapted to the nature of the job and the day-to-day routine.

  • Cruzita is a 30-year-old young adult woman. She was born in Central Texas and grew up in a medium class family that consists of her father who was a U.S. permanent resident, originally Mexican, and used to work in the government before his death, her mother who was a housewife and her younger brother who was affiliated with a dangerous gang in the city. She had a peaceful childhood as she grew up loving life, besides having a beautiful soul, and was raised on manners and moral principles. She spent most of her time with her siblings and grandparents, playing and learning.

She has been genuine since she was a little child when she joined a primary school in their neighborhood and made it up to high school. Her mother encouraged and motivated her to love what she was learning, which prompted her to study very efficiently and achieve high degrees, and that qualified her for admission to the best university in Texas, The University of Texas at Austin, to study material science and metallurgical engineering.

Cruzita used to be successful in athletics and swimming, and she never got bored with sports as she was always enthusiastic. Her dream was to be a peace officer since she was in primary school because of her uncle. She had an uncle whom her family was always boastful and bragged about being a respected lieutenant. He was so kind to her, spent much time together as he was like a real father to her, and that made up a dream for her to become a peace officer like him in the future especially after he told her he had wanted to see her in blue oneday; however, her parents disagreed with her ambition because they were too concerned for her and worried about her of having a dangerous career, full of risks, and that prevented her from achieving her dream in her teens, but she would still have a flame of hope inside her to be one in the future.

After four years of hard studying, she graduated summa cum laude from the university. Her parents were over the moon and thrilled with her success and wished her a bright future with a respected career. The day after the celebration of Cruzita’s graduation, the family was arranging their stuff to spend a week off in San Diego. While the father and his son were checking up the car engine outside their house, a black car with dark tints drove by, and masked strangers brandished their pistols out and opened fire at the duo’s direction. Sadly, the father didn’t survive due to the severe injuries and penetrations he faced. On the other hand, Cruzita’s brother made it with one shot in his right arm that he recovered from. It turned out that the young boy scammed one of the members who were belonging to an enemy gang, and on top of that he had debts to pay.

Since this incident, Cruzita knew that she would never feel safe and could be a victim of her brother’s actions consequences. Therefore, she decided to move out to another state with her mother who later refused to leave her son alone in the middle of that chaos. Cruzita remembered at then that she has a friend, Barbara, in Los Santos whom she met during a trip she was on there, and they kept chatting online all that period. She explained to her what she was going with, and her friend invited her to come to live with her. Barbara welcomed her warmly and allowed Cruzita to settle down with her. Then, she showed her around the city she used to know nobody in except her friend, introduced her to one of her closest friends, Cindy who owns an adult store, and offered her a position in the store.

Although Cruzita is grateful to both of her friends for their kindness and for doing their best to provide her with a better life, she feels ashamed when somebody asks her what she does. She searched for job opportunities related to her degree either in the academic or practical field, but neither of them was befitting her nor she didn't meet the requirements. Moreover, it reminds her of her father’s death. She also tried to work as a bartender, but she didn't seem to be comfortable doing those kinds of jobs. In the end, she started thinking of switching to another new career, which she didn’t decide on till the day she entered Rockford Plaza Mall. Her eyes focused on a mock-up billboard screen showing Sheriff is hiring, then she approached the deputy who was standing next to it. He was gentle with her and answered all Cruzita’s questions and doubts about the nature of work in the department as a deputy or a custody assistant. He gave her some advice and managed to persuade her to take the step she was anxious of taking to start her dream career she can be proud of. When she reached her home that night, she made up her mind and submitted a ride-along request happily to get to know more about the nature of work in the department, being so enthusiastic about planning and drawing her career all the way professionally as she always dreamt of with goals she's ready to achieve.

  • Cruzzie is a 30-year-old woman of middle age. In Central Texas, she was born and grew up in a medium-class family that consists of her father, who was a U.S. permanent resident and originally Mexican and used to work in the government before his death; her mother, a housewife; and her younger brother, who was later affiliated with a dangerous gang in the city. She had a peaceful childhood and grew up loving life, besides having a beautiful soul, as she was raised on manners and essential principles. She spent most of her time with her siblings and grandparents, playing and learning.

She has been genuine since she was a little child, when she joined a primary school in their neighbourhood and made it up to high school. Her mother encouraged and motivated her to love what she was learning, which prompted her to study very efficiently and achieve high degrees, which qualified her for admission to the best university in Texas, The University of Texas at Austin, to study material science and metallurgical engineering.

After four years of studying, she graduated with an excellent degree, and her parents were over the moon about her success and wished her a bright future with a respected career. The day after the celebration of Cruzzie’s graduation, the family was arranging their stuff to spend a week off in San Diego, and while the father and his son were checking up the car engine, a black car with dark tints drove by, and masked people brandished their pistols out and opened fire at the duo’s direction. Sadly, the father didn’t survive due to the severe injuries and penetrations he faced. However, Cruzzie’s brother made it with one shot in his right arm that he recovered from. It turned out that the young boy scammed one of the members, who belongs to an enemy gang, and he had debts to pay.

Since this incident, Cruzzie knew that she would never be safe and could be a victim of her brother’s actions. Therefore, she decided to move out to another state with her mother, who refused to leave her son alone in the middle of that chaos. Cruzzie remembered then that she has a friend, Barbara, in Los Santos, whom she met during a trip she was on there, and they kept chatting online all that period. She explained to her what she was going with, and her friend invited her to come live with her. Barbara welcomed her warmly and allowed Cruzzie to settle down with her. Then, she showed her around the city, introduced her to one of her closest friends, Cindy, who owns an adult store, and offered her a position in the store.

Although Cruzzie is grateful to both of her friends for their kindness and for doing their best to provide her with a better life, she feels ashamed when somebody asks her what she does. She searched for job opportunities related to her degree, either in the academic or practical field, but all of them weren’t either befitting her or she didn't meet their requirements. In addition to that, it reminds her of her father’s death. She also tried to work as a bartender, but she didn't seem to be comfortable doing those kinds of jobs. Then, she made up her mind to switch her career to another one, which she didn’t decide on till the day she entered Rockford Plaza Mall. Her eyes focused on a mock-up billboard screen showing Sheriff is hiring, then she approached the deputy who was standing next to it. He was gentle with her and answered all of Cruzzie’s questions and doubts about the nature of work in the department as a deputy or a custody assistant. He gave her some tips and managed to persuade her lately to start a new stable career she can be proud of.
