Instructions to the Applicant
The information you provide in this application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of San Andreas Peace Officer, in accordance with POST Commission Regulation 1953.
Disqualification
There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals "fail" background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

44. INTRODUCE YOUR CHARACTER. INCLUDE SOME BACKGROUND STORY, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, AND WHY THEY WANT TO JOIN THE DEPARTMENT.
- Kevin Ortiz was born in a rather well-off family, he never really had any struggles growing up in the gated community of Richmond, Los Santos and he had a very loving and supportive family. Due to the area he grew up in he never really had any interactions with law enforcement other than just seeing officers driving by the neighborhood. Although he never really had any interactions with them he was always fascinated by law enforcement, growing up watching all these cops and robbers movies and just cartoons that show law enforcement in a positive light really put an effect on him that they are the good guys.
After graduating High School Kevin knew his parents wanted him to go to college, of course. His parents wanted him to get a prestigious job like an engineer or a doctor but he never really felt that. In his mind, all he ever wanted to do was become a deputy sheriff and his parents did know this but wanted him to pursue a career that would be high-paying and safe of course. Kevin never really enjoyed school and when he got out he was happier than ever, his parents would push him to go off to some prestigious college like ULSA in Los Santos but deep down he really was not interested in doing another 4 years of school once again and his parents respected that. He instead made up his mind about being a deputy sheriff due to the wide variety of positions in the department and the large impact he can make on people's lives on a day-to-day basis. He eventually moved out of his parent's house at 19 and began renting a smallish apartment just on the outskirts of El Burro Heights. by the Liquor store, getting a full-time job at the Fudge Lane Limited gas station so he can afford his day-to-day necessities and of course, get life experience talking to people and dealing with strangers on a day to day basis. He decided to resign from his position at the Xero Limited gas station to pursue his dreams of becoming a deputy sheriff, applying once they opened up their recruitment for deputy sheriffs hoping he can get a career that would really make him happy and be able to help people all over the city.
