Disqualification

Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals “fail†background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

- Elaboration: SPOILER: showMy last incident happened a very long time ago; I was OOC'ly terminated in mid and late 2022 from the LSPD for OOC conduct situations including some small conflicts between me and a member of a different faction, and somehow treating IC scenes in a skewed manner through the /f chat. I wish to return to the LSSD after a long time of these incidents to make up for the bad history and start fresh again from here as I was a member of the faction on my first character listed above for months without any sort of OOC violation until the date of my resignation. I truly wish to make these good days come true again, as it will really remind me of the good days I had within the faction, and would allow me to leave a good impression before quitting for a long time.

- SPOILER: show
- SPOILER: showDamien Hicks Jr. is an American white male, who was born on the 12th of July, 1999, to his American mother Samantha. He never met his father because he died right after Samantha gave birth to his son - It was a rainy day, and shortly after the night that led to her impregnation, Damien Sr. was way too excited as he was driving his personal car, but he never made it back home alive due to a vehicle accident with a large cargo truck, leading to his death on the spot. Everyone in the family was feeling upset and awfully sad about his passing. To honor her husband, Samantha named her son after her dead husband. Samantha herself grew up with strict parents who spoke English fluently and taught Samantha so she could communicate with relatives back home but lived typical American lives otherwise. Samantha was of a similar fashion and she occasionally spoke to Damien in English during his toddler years but decided to focus on English to avoid him developing an accent and ensure he speaks fluently.
Damien was about three years old when his mother was working as an accountant for a small security firm and met Raphael Lopez, who was the head of the firm she worked at. As things went along, they both fell in love with each other. After a few months of dating, they both decided to move together to live with each other down at South Bohan by the Applejack Street area at Fortside, and they both got married afterward. In the beginning, everything was as good as someone would expect, Raphael had no particular grudge for Damien and tended to his needs but it became clear early that he was not capable of fully accepting Damien as his own.
At first, it was just the typical eye roll but as the relationship grew old and stale his reactions became clearer and more direct. Whenever Damien's mother spoke English he told her that he couldn't stand not being able to understand what she was saying and in return, she diminished her usage of her second language. Bit by bit Raphael managed to ban anything remotely foreign from their home and Samantha out of love (or habit) slowly stopped speaking English completely.
As Damien progressed into his teenage years he became a part of the urban culture and enjoyed the hip hop and/or rap genre most of the music back at the beginning of the 2000s at Bohan. This in return was yet another thorn in his stepfather's eye who seemed to compensate for his own emigrational background by trying to appear as American as he could. Hearing the urban slang ring through his home was a disruption of this and in return, Damien rarely was on good terms with Raphael. Damien avoided this ongoing situation at home with Raphael the best way someone could, he spent his time normally, either on the streets around with his local friends and neighbors, or being by his own at home minding his own business. He was always familiar with the crimes happening around the area where he lived, and he always thought of doing something about it, but he had no power to deal with or prevent such acts.
Damien has always seen great potential for himself for a better life, but thanks to the neighborhood he lived in, he had violent tendencies but never with the intention that he would want to commit any sort of crime. Damien realized his disconnect from his own heritage and the displeasure caused by his stepfather. His peers also helped remind him that he was not of Hispanic descent and Damien was emotionally disconnected from his roots. It didn’t help that his way of speaking was heavily influenced by his music preference and neighborhood which in turn caused mixed reactions from people talking to him. He was perceived as someone trying to be what he wasn’t and in return, Damien never felt like anything.
Shortly after Damien turned 18 his mother was diagnosed with a rapidly spreading cancer and she died shortly after. His mother left him a letter apologizing for the way her husband treated him and for the neglect she showed in defending Damien's true self in order to keep their home as peaceful as she could and it made Damien feel away. On their way back home from the funeral, his stepfather informed him that his mother left him enough funds to move out and that he gave him just a few days to get everything packed. Damien didn’t take his stepfather's words seriously up to the point that after those few days, he came home to replace the locks but just found out that his belongings were partially looted in front of their home. Damien carelessly took his own belongings, stepped into his mother's old car, and drove down to an apartment complex at Broker in the hope that this in return would teach Damien more about what it means to be someone with real goals to achieve in life.
By the time Damien was 18, he had already finished high school, nobody showed up at his graduation ceremony, as Damien was completely on his own in this big world, but that did not make him feel upset, as he already decided to enlist for the United States Marine Corps after graduation from high school, a moment he has been waiting for years after the displeasure he had been going through with his stepfather. He had left his personal belongings with the landlord at the apartment he rented at Broker already before packing up his basic needs in a single duffle bag to take it along to Parris Island which is located in Beaufort County, South Carolina. He made his way to the Francis International Airport and went through the local Military Entrance Processing Station before boarding his flight to South Carolina. During the flight, Damien had already waved goodbye to his childhood town, thinking enough that he was going to close down a major chapter of his life, but he still did not know what was coming for him.
During the 13-week Marine Recruit Training, Recruit Damien really made lots of war buddies during his stay there, but they had to split apart due to the fact that every recruit has to be assigned to separate divisions around the Marine Corps, some were assigned to Infantry Marine Divisions, others were assigned to Logistics, but somehow Recruit Hicks was a part of the group that was recommended to undergo the Military Police School, which was very unexpected as he thought he would be sent overseas with his favorite recruit training BootCamp friends. With that being mentioned, Damien had to undergo the 3-week Military Combat Training program since he was not chosen for an Infantry regiment.
Damien thought it was all destined for him, so he just made a decision to lean on himself and just finish whatever job he was assigned to do. During the Military Police School, after around 20 weeks and several hours doing patrols and on-the-job training, he became a full-fledged guard within the Military Police. He was rotating to guard multiple bases, and he made it so far to the rank of Corporal after constant service for 3 years before his law enforcement battalion got deactivated in 2021. After his battalion was deactivated, he just decided to return home and get back into regular civilian life.
Upon return, Damien was really surprised he found his untouched belongings with the landlord, he decided to offer him an amount of the money he used to be paid during his military service for the complete honesty from the landlord, and the landlord couldn't turn down such a generous offer from Damien so he just accepted Damien's gift with good faith. A couple of weeks after his return, Damien obtained a job in a nearby “Totally Wireless†internet café as a receptionist/cashier, he encountered a few violent clients, and he had a rough time coping with the citizens of Broker in general. In fact, he almost got assaulted and robbed at gunpoint many times whenever he was out to buy groceries or any home appliances, and he even saw lots of people go through similar acts. Damien's combative instincts really made him wish he could have done something about those incidents, but one day, Damien definitely decided to try to make some difference in the community, so he put himself back together and thought about a major career change. He applied for the Liberty City Police to serve the entire City of Liberty in the hope of making a major difference in terms of public safety and general service and to continue serving his beloved country without any hesitation.
After about a year of service, Damien was involved in a physical altercation with a fellow Police Officer who always used to put him in bad situations in front of other Fellow officers, the higher command, and the public at times. Damien had held himself together until he had enough of that Officer; his instincts somehow made him go off-character and get involved with the other officer. Despite the petty injury caused to both Damien and the other Officer, Damien was the one who was terminated from his dream job during his probationary period for bad conduct in the line of duty, while the other officer just got away with it. Damien noticed some of the ads encouraging people to visit the City of Los Santos just the day he went back home after his discharge. Damien did not have to think more than once about it before packing his stuff up and making his way to the Francis International Airport. After taking nearly 14 hours to arrive on the other side of the country, Damien made sure to be familiar with all the key points of the city before going for any job. While settling at his room in a motel, Damien was scrolling through many career opportunities on a local scale, but his instincts could not let him focus on anything outside of law enforcement as a career to be committed to.
Damien could be thinking of a rewarding opportunity within local law enforcement in his new city...
