Re: [DST] Thomas Kotlinski [REVIEW]
((I've removed the names from the background story as I was unfortunately not able to understand which middle names were you looking for. Thomas's parents are not married and made the choice of not giving Thomas a middle name. I've also corrected my grammar and removed un-necessary hypens as instructed.))

Instructions to the Applicant
The information you provide in this application will be used in the background investigation to assist in determining your suitability for the position of San Andreas Peace Officer, in accordance with POST Commission Regulation 1953.
Disqualification
There are very few automatic bases for rejection. Even issues of prior misconduct, such as prior illegal drug use, driving under the influence, theft, or even arrest or conviction are usually not, in and of themselves, automatically disqualifying. However, deliberate misstatements or omissions can and often will result in your application being rejected, regardless of the nature or reason for the misstatements/omissions. In fact, the number one reason individuals "fail" background investigations is because they deliberately withhold or misrepresent job-relevant information from their prospective employer.

44. INTRODUCE YOUR CHARACTER. INCLUDE SOME BACKGROUND STORY, CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, AND WHY THEY WANT TO JOIN THE DEPARTMENT.
- Thomas Kotlinski was born and raised in Los Santos. Thomas was born as the third child in his family. He has one older sister and one older brother. His father, Alex, is a third generation Polish American, whilst his mother is a second generation Brazilian American. Thomas didn't have the luxury to get new clothes. Most of his clothes and accessories were hand downs from his older siblings. Because of this, Thomas had to wear clothes that were out of fashion. Thomas ended up getting picked on because of his choice of clothing. It never came down to his classmates bullying him, yet it was still eye-opening for Thomas. Thomas learned, that in order to be likeable, he'd have to be careful with what he wears and what he does. His parents were workaholics, occasionally spending twelve hour shifts at work and the rest of the time sleeping. Thomas was mostly raised by his older sister. His brother had inherited the characteristics of their parents, as he was also a workaholic. He spent most of his time at work out of town.
Thomas was an intelligent kid. He's excellent in mathematics and he has a very innovative mind. His creative mind was one of his strongest characteristics once he started looking for employment. Thomas had always loved cooking with his older sister. He had learned plenty of different recipes with her. This lead to Thomas applying to multiple fast food chains. He was eventually hired to work at a Burger Shot at the age of seventeen. Starting off, he couldn't work full-time due to school obligations and laws prohibiting it. When he turned eighteen, he had graduated from High School and was able to continue working at the Burger Shot, but now as a full time employee. He was able to provide for his family, helping them pay rent and other essential bills. He was also able to afford things for himself. This was a valuable life lesson for Thomas. He previously thought that money comes naturally, yet after spending a long time working at a Burger Shot, he finally understood that a work ethic is required in order to earn money. Thomas is a very outgoing person. He's often able to find new friends out of complete strangers by just having a chat with them. He was a favourite in his workplace as he was able to get along with everyone. Eventually, Thomas wanted to move on and he was presented with an opportunity to work for a well established restaurant in Del Perro. He took the job opportunity and exceeded because of previous experience and his willingness to learn. He was able to adapt to a new and a more professional work setting with no major setbacks. After he was able to finish the training period, his life turned back to what it had been working at the Burger Shot. He was eventually able to save enough money to move out of his childhood home. This also helped Thomas with forming long term friendships and relationships as he was able to invite people to his place without a family member interrupting.
His best friend, who he worked with at the Del Perro Lotus Lounge, told Thomas about a job listing to become a Deputy Sheriff Trainee. Thomas had very vague knowledge of the department, yet he was still willing to give it a shot. He loved watching different Law Enforcement shows on television and he had a soft spot for well executed Law Enforcement Officer portrayals. He eventually made up his mind, applying for a position as a DST in the Sheriff's Department. There was no particular reasoning behind Thomas choosing Sheriff's Department over the Police Department, it was just a flow of things that eventually pushed him towards the Sheriff's Department. Thomas put in decent effort to learn about the Sheriff's Department, watching documentaries, movies and reading books and internet pages about the job.

His father is a third generation Polish-American and his mother is second generation Brazilian-American. Thomas didn't get much as the third child in the family. New clothes were mostly out of the picture for him as he was pushed to use his brother's hand-downs. Because of the fact that his clothes were old and used, he was picked on a lot. It never developed out to bullying, yet he was certainly insecure about his appearance, which made him more cautious of what he wears and how he looks. His parents were workaholics, which unfortunately meant that he had very little time to spend with his parents and was mostly left home alone with his sister. His older brother was also working out of town, therefore Thomas wasn't able to be with him a lot.

He was able to adapt to a new, more professional work setting in a few weeks.
